Optional University Courses
Summer
Session in Epidemiology and Biostatistics:
As of
the 2011-12 academic year, all postgraduate trainees are required to pay
to take any Summer Session courses offered by the
Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health.
Information on the Summer courses can be
found at:
www.epi.mcgill.ca
Double Programs:
In general, students must pay all fees
related to every program in which they register. However, Residents and
Fellows who are also registered in a full-time thesis program may receive a
partial to full exemption from tuition fees for the second program,
depending on the number of weeks registered as a resident or
fellow. Students who have completed their residency requirements for the
thesis program and register in additional terms are responsible to pay
all fees associated with those terms. Other ancillary fees associated
with the program will be charged in the Fall/Winter once registrations
have been finalized. Please consult the Admissions, Recruitment and
Registrar’s Office for more information.
Should
trainees who are foreign citizens and who currently hold a Work Permit
to complete a residency or fellowship program at McGill
wish to
pursue a Master’s or a Ph.D. program of study while they are working as a
medical resident/clinical fellow,
they
also
require to obtain a Study Permit from Immigration Canada and a Study CAQ
from Immigration Quebec. Information on this process can be obtained
form the office of International Student Services, Suite 3215 in the
Brown Student Services Building, telephone number 398-4349, website:
http://www.mcgill.ca/internationalstudents/.
Trainees who register for courses which
are taken outside of their residency program are responsible for the
tuition and fees attached to these.
It is not possible for trainees to be
registered in three full-time programs.
