Social Insurance Number

All residents paid via Ministry funded positions must apply for a Social Insurance Number. Applications to obtain a Social Insurance Number can be obtained at Service Canada, 200 René-Lévesque Blvd West, Guy-Favreau Complex, office 034, Montreal, Quebec  H2Z 1X4.

The office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Residents/fellows should bring the following: passport, work authorization, copy of McGill letter of offer and training card. The delay to receive a Social Insurance number by mail is of approximately three weeks. There is no charge for first time applications.
