Surgical Specialties

At McGill University, positions in Cardiac Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery are usually offered at an entry R-1 level. Transfers at a higher residency level may be considered. After successful completion of a residency in General Surgery, a resident, if accepted, can train in one of the following Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada accredited programs: General Surgical Oncology, Pediatric General Surgery and Vascular Surgery.
