Neuroradiology
The Neuroradiology Fellowship Program is
a two-year program accredited by the Royal College of Physicians &
Surgeons of Canada.
The Neuroradiology Program at McGill
offers a broad range of experience in imaging and interventional
procedures of the nervous system in adults and children. Each resident
rotates through three teaching hospitals at McGill. Each hospital offers
a wide spectrum of clinical studies in addition to exposure to
subspecialties such as epilepsy, neuro-oncology, trauma, ophthalmology,
and head and neck. Training in angiography and interventional procedures
is done at the Montreal Neurological Hospital where a large number of
angiographic procedures and investigation and treatment of vascular
malformations are performed. At the Montreal General Hospital where
there is recognized expertise in the fields of trauma, neuro-oncology,
and vascular disease, ample exposure to MRI, CT, and doppler studies is
achieved. The fellowship program also includes a 4-month rotation at the
Montreal Children's Hospital where exposure to all aspects of pediatric
neuroradiology is provided. Finally, there is a one-month rotation in
neuropathology and a 2-month elective period in basic research,
spectroscopy, PET or clinical sciences.
At each hospital, there is a close
relationship between the neuroradiology section and the clinical
neuroscience divisions. The resident thus participates in the academic
activities of both the neuroradiology section and the clinical
departments. This integration is an essential part of the training
program. For further information, please contact:
