Eligibility

The present section outlines the eligibility criteria, as well as the ministry funded and non-ministry funded positions available.  All applicant files are screened by the Postgraduate Medical Education office prior to being submitted to a Program Director, to ensure that all requirements are met (university, provincial regulations, etc.)*. 

The on-line application system for the 2014-2015 academic year (201409 - i.e. Fall 2014) will open up as of May 15, 2013.  Candidates who choose to apply before that date compromise their application.  Please only apply after May 15, 2013.   Applicants select 201409 (i.e. Fall 2014) for the academic year starting July 1, 2014.

Please note that in order for a physician to be able to be considered for a fellowship (post residency training) they must hold a specialty certificate from a Board or College.

Your eligibility depends on your ensuring you have all required exams and attestations, as per the criteria out lined in the Applicant Information section, according to your applicant profile: Residency Ministry-Funded  and Residency Non-Ministry Funded.  We are unable to consider trainees who do not meet the eligibility criteria outlined in these sections, or whose file is incomplete.

Applicants who know they are carrying the Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C virus should consider carefully their intention to practice clinical medicine and govern themselves accordingly.
